Reig Jofre is driving a strategic transformation from a traditional pharmaceutical company to a biopharmaceutical company, supported by the integration of Leanbio and Syna Therapeutics. This process began in 2018 with the acquisition of a stake in Leanbio and the joint development of the Syna Therapeutics project. This change will be consolidated in 2025 with the integration of both companies.
The strategy combines two approaches: on the one hand, Leanbio contributes biotechnology development and production services capabilities, and on the other, Syna Therapeutics drives the development of biosimilars, with one product already in advanced clinical stages and licensed to an international partner. With this, the company aims to both participate in the biotechnology value chain and develop its own higher value-added products.
After 2025 was impacted by extraordinary events, the company expects to recover growth in 2026, improve margins, and move towards double-digit EBITDA (around 15%), supported by more profitable businesses. In the medium term, it expects to consolidate its biopharmaceutical transition, increase cash generation, reduce debt and strengthen its international expansion.
